For sale is a brand new Smart CDI engine, never installed in a vehicle, just bench run by Smart Germany. I was going to install this in my Smart but sold the car. Asking $4200. Located in Toronto.SOLD!

See attached photo for the side of the sprocket. From examining the parts, it appears the bearings failed in this engine due to oil starvation which was the result of a failure of the sprocket. The chain has a few gouges in it as well. I have the entire engine apart if anyone would like me to take photos or have a more detailed look at specific parts. It appears this vehicle was regularly serviced at the dealer and I have the service records as well. I will most likely be rebuilding it soon so I am trying to figure out a parts list to order.

Hey I'm a new Smart owner from Toronto and bought a project 2005 Smart Pulse CDI with motor problems. Seems like the same issue with the sprocket in mine. Have a look at the pic. 08 03
