  1. A recent 2 day power outage has had me thinking about getting a generator but I think my diesel smart could do the job. I would like to permanently install an inverter somewhere out of the way and have a plugin accessible from the outside of the car so doors can be locked and windows up when running. Would running parked on idle for long periods of time be damaging to the engine? Does anyone know how much power(watts) would be available at idle so I can choose an appropriate sized inverter? (daytime running lights are shut off ) Any ideas on a good place for an external(hidden) plug? I am thinking it could be where you fill up the washer fluid but i am not sure if leaving the plastic grill off would cause problems if rain got in there. Any ideas on wiring the battery to the inverter and getting a plug accessible from the outside? I may not have another power outage for years but I think it would be really cool to be able to plug in to the outside of my car and have some electricity when needed.
  2. I made a post a while back about my Bluetooth upgrade. http://clubsmartcar.com/index.php?s=&s...st&p=318135 This unit works very well and is less work/money if all you want is bluetooth. If you want to change the radio I have the needed facial adaptor and antenna adaptor. You can PM if interested.

  4. Nice day here in Surrey, time for my third oil change since I have owned my used 2005 pulse.Using an extractor pump purchased at princess auto,I push down on the plunger and oil starts gushing out through the top of the handle, big mess, and I make a bigger mess trying to figure out whats wrong.I went inside and googled to see if I can find the problem and see that this happened to someone else. They contacted someone (distributor?) and they where told that the seals can fail with synthetic oil??I didn't have the receipt but princess auto asks for your phone number when you make a purchase so it was on file, whew! The one I had was marked up to 7.8L,I think.I traded up to a 9.5L oval shaped one for an extra $20 hoping for better luck.To dark to try again by the time I got home but thankfully we are having some nice weather here on the wet coast so I will try again tomorrow
  5. Hooked up a Bluetooth receiver. This thing works great, automatically connects to Bluetooth device when the ignition is turned on and the sound is great(cant tell any difference compared to wired connection). Total cost around $50, Receiver Aux in adapter
  6. This is what I am using, works great. No need for the additional plug part some are buying for there emulators.Just push the wire ends which are thickened up with solder into the original plugand wrap with electrical tape (2" wide roll works best) to seal.Arrived in less than a week from Poland.
