Also get a quote for have the shipping service do the packing, unless you feel comfortable and competent about packing this yourself. I just received a window from a wrecking yard in Germany, that I bought on eBay. It was wrapped in a single layer of cardboard… no “fragile glass” label on it.
it DID NOT survive the trip.
I think it might have had a chance if the US Postal Service hadn’t gotten their hands on it, so I would prefer a single shipper handling it if possible (FedEx, UPS). I know this won’t be cheap, but I’m running out of options, and my hubby can tell you.. I’m too stubborn to give up the cause.
