Mmmm Is this the car they say will be sold in the US sometime in 2010 for $600? I'll take two...

Looking for: Wrecked or badly damaged smart car
100MPGUS replied to a topic in Classifieds - Parts and Accessories
I have the same idea in mind. I think the engine and computer along with the transmission on the right bike will get over 100 US MPG. Smartzuuk got 105 with the car attached! -
I have 2 connected in my pickup and it does work! I seems very accurate and no noticeable delay on the readout compared to one SG
-
I have a few hundred! I have been watching this for a while also. It looks very good for a motorcycle engine also.

Is that model ekin ria? -
now that you mention it, I think my B-inlaw used to have one. Thanks for the reminder!

Well, I finally remembered to fire off that letter to SC and this is what they said. So I grab the first CAT5 cable I see (SIX feet long!) and bolt out to the car. Hook it up and bingo it works. I did not drive it around, but all the readouts seemed to update instantly and there was no smoke so I will be stopping for the SHORTEST CAT5 cable I can find on the way home from work tomorrow!

If they let the CDI come to the US from CA, then they are real. Other wise, its more BS. The CDI gets more then any hybrid (sometimes better then TWO hybrids)and can run on biodiesel.
-
I fixed it for you.
-
Ok here is my idea, take it and I can always sue you later, since I cannot afford the insight donor car or the cdi. Smart CDI engine, and the Honda Insight Body (all aluminum) light weight 6 speed trans. Light weight, Extremely aerodynamic, way more then the smart so it should get 100mpg, easy. The CD of the Insight is .25 , anyone know what the smart is?

Ignore the :30 second commercial in the begining. This guy has converted a smart to run on LPG in addition to regular gasoline, I think the first Bi-fuel smart on the planet? They do not go into any details, only things like "This is the gas tank, this is the LPG tank..." I am curious to find out if the distance per tank is more then gasoline alone. I think they installed smaller gasoline tank to save on space http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.htm...amac.toyota.cnn

The Honda GX NGV is listed as a AT-PZEV. In some places the emissions were cleaner then the outside air. AT is Advanced Technology and PZEV is Partial Zero-emission Vehicle. How could it be partial zero? I waited years for the diesel smart to come to the US. I have been waiting for most of my adult life for Electric vehicles. I keep hearing about fuel cells. My pickup is killing me, and dam that scan gauge, I can now see how much fuel I am burning per hour. 3-4 gallons, when it is cold! I need something soon. Honda is claiming to have a production hydrogen fuel cell car for 2008 ... http://automobiles.honda.com/future-cars/index.asp "the FCX Concept, a precursor to the production car coming in 2008" Anyone have any experiance with a NGV?
-
Keith, after reading what other have said, don't try it on my account. I wouldn't want you to fry your car or scangauge. I think what we need is a ScanGauge III! with a 6 or 8 function display!
-
Ok, Thanks. Has anyone tried to connect a second one to that port? I could use two more places for rpm and temp, with out having to switch back and forth.
-
TPS GPHMPG MPHDoes anyone know what the what the outlet is for on the right side of the ScanGauge is for? A second SC?
-
Is that 154 US pounds? Good news for me and my project (only in the planning stages, in my head)

With optional siphon hose, 200%

REALLY? Wow thanks!!! I always wanted a smart diesel! I actually sat in one this past weekend. I was surprised, like everyone who sits in a smart for the first time, how much room there is! Plenty if leg room, comfortable and I was also surprise at how quiet they are. I did not get to drive the car but watching them cruising along the highway at NY speeds, I could see the ride is smooth. I have some pics to post when I get a chance, along with some video.

Tires? For the snow? How about these... http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=116799 They seem good in the sand anyway.

Optimium Tire Pressure Which Doesn't AdverseAffect Tire Wear
100MPGUS replied to Silverstreak's topic in enviro-mileage
Most will disagree with me but the Max Pressure that is stamped on the tire is what I use for all my cars and bikes for the last 20 years, with no problems with tire wear. You will feel the road more but it will improve your MPG's. I even go over on my S-10 PU, it says 44, I put 50. Rolls forever, and I can get 30 MPG at 55mph. -
(Unofficial) Fuel Economy Record in a smart cdi
100MPGUS replied to smartzuuk's topic in enviro-mileage
my hero! So, I am not dreaming when I believe it is possible! Congrats on the 105 MPG. Now imagine that engine on a motorcycle... 150mpg... -

Honda Reported Planning for Fit Hybrid in FY2007
100MPGUS replied to Hornhonker's topic in Auto Talk
I just went to look at a Fit sport and I liked it. The seats are amazing, the seat bottoms fold up for tall storage, or they fold down and with the hatchback, I could even sleep back there! 31/37 city/highway is pretty good and for about 16,000 US, it is a steal. It gets 2x the MPG of my current S-10 pickup, but you can't tow a dam thing with the Fit. I am getting tired of waiting for the smart to get here... If the one they had at the dealer in Vivid Blue wasn't sold, I would have brought the bike home and came back with my PU to get price on trading it in. -
if you backed off a little bit on the gas, you would have felt some buffeting. So any distance close then that, you were feeling the effects. It should save you a lot of fuel, over coming air resistance if a huge portion of the energy need to propel a vehicle. if you could keep the gas pedal at the exact same place on flat ground and pulled out from behind the truck you would have slowed down 10mph or more. do not use crusie, it will just accelerate more to keep the speed. it works, i have done it in a motorhome and for a short distance and that tank was 2mpg more then any other tank. and i did it for lesss then 50 miles.
