Anyone know anything about the engines? How reliable are they? Are they rebuildable? I am looking at this one - Type: 2.2L L4 DIESEL and it is cheap...so far. I am willing to pay 300(US) but I am wondering, even if it is seized, can pistons, ring and the like be found?

OIL: High triple digit barrel pricing - how soon?

They need it now and have the money to pay for it. I am in the concrete business and there was a shortage of bulk cement powder for a while. It was due to China paying way more then the going rate for the ships to bring it to china. It was rationed here for a while...Our company used between 50 and 250 tons a day. -
NOW we're talking! I wonder if they make them with a smartdiesel...

I drove the majority of the 15k miles with no shoes on. It extented my MPD(miles per day) by not having my feet bound up all day. Much more comfortable and with power brakes, I can hit the brake as fast or even faster without shoes! less weight on the feet...It was like I had ninja feet

It looks way lower then a bike. I think visability would be very poor in traffic. But it does look like fun!

"K 100 R-S framed bike" is what they are calling it, but I didnt know if that was a typo or similar eu version.
-
Is that the frame they used? Here is the smart outboard and smart inboard boat motors you were thinking of.I would love to get my hands on a smart diesel engine!! http://www.dmv-bootsdiesel.de/Englisher%20...lish_index.html

Imagine the MPG'S I could get with this! Yes, a SMART DIESEL in a motorcycle frame! Anyone want to donate their engine to me? Click the link for more info and more pics. They also installed one in a BMW frame. http://www.peace65.freeserve.co.uk/Pictures/mercedes.htm

closer to my home? Well, I may do that some day but I am currently on the wrong coast and heading south! Maybe i willl be bored over the christmas vacation and take a drive up there. You are now on the hook for one demonstration! heh I just washed he 9000 miles of dirt from 2 countries off of old faithful. I am shocked at the condition of my truck from the rocks used on the roads up here. Over on the east coast, they sue sand and salt. The front lower corners of the bed look like they have been sand blasted!

I am currently in the vancouver area (RT1 surrey center?) and looking for a smart to inspect! let me tell you the drive from white horse to Vancouver is BRUTAL! But I made it, even though it took a year off my life somehow. Anyone that has a smart in the area and has a little bit of time please let me know. I will try not to ask the same questions!

Could hybrid drivers be taxed to fix roads?

Where as SUV's carry that extra weight at all speeds? Sounds like oil companys are starting to see gas sales declining and they figured that one way or another, people will pay us, whether by buying our products or NOT buying them. This is crazy. Next they will come up with a law that charges owners of ALL electric vehicles a fuel avoidance tax per mile. -

Are you using a cell phone camera? If not, clean your lens! I would be you have finger prints all over the lens, and that makes for a funky picture.

This is the perfect companion to the smart car. A company in California make these and other models. This one is 8' X 12' with a porch and is a completely liveable house! It is built on a trailer and can be driven to your land. The best part is, your taxes do not go up since it is considered a travel trailer! http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/

Hi yukoner! I need to check my routing but I think I am passing right through white horse onthe way to alaska. It should be about the first week in Dec. so what is the usual conditions of the road up that way? Passable? Horrible?
-
woohoo! I can finally understand what I am looking at and have my stats listed!
-
MS trips and streets is showing from my property in NM, with Denver, and Billings MT as selected stops Calgery, and various roads, 34,43,629(although it looks like the same road to me,?) to the Alaskan HWY. Is Vancouver a shorter route? Sorry for hijacking this thread. I heard alaska and lost my mind!

I am looking forward to this. I will take all precutions and then some since I believe overkill is just enough. Thanks for all the info and if you think of any more, im listening! What about the road conditions? How soon are the roads cleared(packed down)? Is there gasoline available frequently? I can get about 350 M.P.T.( I know, dont rub it in...) but will only count on 150 in bad conditions. Or should I bring an extra 5 gallons?
