A and B Service costs:
Shirl replied to Dang's topic in Operation and Maintenance: 450 Model, 2005-2006, diesel
Hello everyone. In regards to the Oakville MB, I will not go anywhere else now. Having had issues with Burlington MB that has left me pretty sour. I headed to Oakville at the suggestion of another Smart owner. They always gives me a loaner when they have to keep Titan and I do not need to argue that I am in need of a car to get to work, the service reps stay in touch and let me know what to expect. Titan is accumilating a lot of miles on him each day as I commute back and forth. There has had to be some significant repairs and needed. Oakville will check and see if they can get it covered under a partial or full warranty for the specific part needed. I can't say enough about them. I will continue to go there and I feel comfortable enough recommending them -
Hello EveryoneI noticed a significant increase in the amount of Smart Cars traveling around the area. I know we met up once in Hamilton and the evening was well attended and enjoyable.Having wineries and breweries within our reach and an abundance of wineries to choose from, it makes for some fun side outings in addition to get-together every monthWhat I am looking for is some insite from members on1) Who would be interested2) If you had to chose a day out from Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday which one would be best (the day that is mentioned most will be the chosen day)I am looking at starting this for September once the summer holidays are completed,Take care and drive safeShirl

Well it happened today, Titan has hit a milestone. I had to track my milage for work today so I got to see the numbers change 150,002. With all the traveling and drive to work, I am actually surprised it has not hapened sooner.Take care and drive safe

Is your A/C failing?
Shirl replied to Sketch's topic in Operation and Maintenance: 450 Model, 2005-2006, diesel
Well, I guess I should of made myself more clear before I moved on the how many machanics does it take to do the AC. Bilgladstone, if you noticed, I had written that they changed the hose and the bottle, at the start of the season. I should of mentioned that this was done last "month". Did they fill it afterwards? NO! They told me my car was ready to be picked up and not a word was mentioned until I had to call them to see why they did not do the air since they replaced the hose. The mechanics employed where I work are all licensed and would never ever ever send me on my way without making sure that all is well with my car. As a matter of fact, it has been those machanics that have noticed a few things that were not done during the regular service, They then tell me what it is so I can call the MB dealer and find out why they charged me for work when it was not completed,So, I am not about to go and do anything lightly with my car and yes I do care about the enviroment. Take care, drive safeShirl -

Each time I take Titan in for service and ask at the biggining of the season to check the air, i always get you need a new hose, or a bottle or something. Either way, it cost well over $200.00. This season I was telling the mechanics at work (I work for a trucking company) They said to pull it around. They filled the AC and I have been good to go. i was also told that I should just get it topped up each year as we do not have much coolant that goes in. So if I have to go to a dealer for any reason, to just tell them to top it up not go over everything, just do a recharge.I called another garage that i know of and when I asked them what they would cost to do a recharge, they said it would be about $70.00. So I will try that before anything else each year. It seems to be the cheaper way to go. Granted it was fun watching three diesel mechanics who work on big rigs all day trying to figure out how to get at the Air Conditioning. Told them they had better be labeling all the parts they took off in order to figure it all out. LOL Not sure what was more funnier, them at my car or the size of Titan compared to all the Freightliners on the shop.Take careShirl -
Smart Dealer experience
Shirl replied to GetSet's topic in Operation and Maintenance: 451 Model, 2008-2015, gasoline
Hi GetSetI to have had several issues when just taking Titan in for service. I am at a point though, as long as they give me a loaner and I do not have to beg, yell or rant to get one, then I am okay with them taking longer. At least they will get it done. I can never figure out why with all the staff they have working even at the reception area that they for some reason are never able to give you a call with an update especially if you have booked an appointment... sighTake care, drive safe -

Hello everyone,Myself, I only drive Titan, I go back and forth to Mississauga each day and much rather be dring my smart than any other, Bill on the other hand drives our old van. Living aboard the boat causes the need for a larger vehicle twice a year when we do our switch of seasonal items for the boat.Once the last of the canvas and the fenders come over, Bill puts the van to the side and brings out his 1985 300d Mercedes (his baby). The mercedes will stay on the road until it looks like it may snow.Titan and I stick out all the different seasons together. Take care, drive safe.
