hello all's,ten smart cars afew cabrio's,one brabus,glasstops,hardtops...all 2006ish diesels been tossing around if keeping my late dads hobby PROJECT collection,, i have too many other genres of mechanical hobby for my lifetime. key-word 'PROJECTS'...i haven't immersed myself in them yet-but could. these are for an aficionado / smart breeder-farmer / smart veterinarian.. of ten cars,,one hardtop runs fine, another limps, one has the nose apart, one has the engine out, the others aren't turn-key, i don't know & haven't tried..they all look perfectly good to me,,everything is usable, none are smashed(afew cracked plastics)no write-offs if i drive the runner i need the rest for a lifetime worth of a plate full.. (like i already do with dozens of old vw's&hondas).. if there's serious interest(that would also be the logistics of 10cars),,,,a bargain or trade & volumes of details.. i don't resell or part-out anything=i hoard&low/no media, old tech>> but lots of value for someone that does. and maybe it unburdens me(makes space for other things). niche car communities know what things are worth__ i would leave alot of meat on the bone .. priced for all the unknowns.. but a serious smart whisperer could diagnose em' all __ ,, ***again***all or none package= best deal/offer/trade ,,for now... thanks guys! (this is first post here of them,,once i put details together/ducks in a row,, i'll update here&post other sites)

Hey guys! I've been looking all over the internet to find somehting on this issue with no luck. I bought a 2017 Fortwo Cabrio. When closing the the top when fully open, when it transitions from the vertical close to the horizontal slide makes a hard clicking noise, like gears skipping. It sounds simultaneously on both sides. I'll share a video. There is no way of avoiving the clipping no matter if you try to release the button before it clicks, as soon as you press it again to close the "sunroof" it clicks until you let go of the button again and then you can press it for it to slide closed. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi all, Thought I'd start this thread since most of the rear window threads I've found are about shops in GTA or vancouver. So I've been driving with a big hole in my rear window for almost a year now. I just couldn't bring myself to pay the 1000$ to repair it, which is the price I got from everyone I called. Until the other day, when I was stuck in traffic, a guy comes up to my window and gives me his card and tells me to call him tomorrow to fix my window. Quotes me 350$ to replace it. Best price I've gotten locally so far. Now I haven't repaired it yet, since I have to leave my car there for the day, so I can't comment on the quality. But I did visit the shop and it seemed like good work was being done there. I hope this helps out some people in the montreal area cause I know I had a time finding someone. Here's the shop info: Automobilia - 1242 Boulevard Marcel-Laurin, Saint-Laurent, QC H4R

Hi All! Just purchased my wheels before xmas, and this among other queries has helped me with a couple of fixes so far! Got 65,000 miles on the clock, service record last shows a service in 2015 at 55,000. 1 spanner service symbol showing, with a number of 511, which is gradually rising? is this the number of 'hours' past the last service? Local Merc dealer has a service package offer available, which sounds interesting, as payments are monthly and can include two services. Not sure my regular mechanic would relish working on this, or has worked on any before. So, I'd expect to be having to pay more than normal for a service anyway. So, tempted on this, as hopefully they'll point out any issues I should be aware of before the MOT is due in March. 1st issue I had to deal with..... The drivers door handle started playing up. Not opening... and then occasionally doing so. I had to resort to buying a spare handle & cable, and drilling the handle off the door as even with the magic hook I wasn't able to trigger the door opening. Turns out there is a lot of gunk on the lock too, and the issue was the white plastic retaining clip for cable was a little broken and had become partially detached. Cleaned the locking/catch mechanism out, and fitted replacement handle. Door closes and opens fine, just needs a little work on tighening the hinges or adjust the catch, as the door may have dropped a little and is not closing cleanly. Issues to tackle: Interior courtesy light.... there does not appear to be power going to this? Checked fuses... Light Button..... maybe related to above. It was detached when I bought it, and the corresponding plug didn't fit very well, requiring a slight adjustment. Now, the light switch is always lit when the lights are on, and the 'switch' part of it does nothing. Condensation on interior of headlights. Think that may need me to gird my loins on.... :/ Roof needs de-greening. Far too much moss/mould/lichen. I've got some protex clean and protect, just need a milder day to do it. Rear screen has a couple of holes. so maybe considering a replacement, otherwise got some good tape that seems to be working to keep the rain out.

I have a 2009 Passion Cabrio and I've been getting a rattling sound from somewhere around the left side of the steering wheel, inside the dash I think. It's not like a loose screw that rattles a little in its socket, but a loud intermittent buzzing sound that happens at any speed (but more so at the higher speeds). I checked to see if it was a window rattling, or something to do with the convertible top, or even something in the door pockets, but nothing checks out. It sounds like it's inside the dash panel on the left of the steering wheel. Does anyone know what this could be, and if it's serious? I'd appreciate any input you can come up with. Thanks in advance!

Thank you all so much for your help in that previous one! I’m still finding some new things out about how the car was treated by its previous owners and I hope to get her to 100% soon. The transmission in this cab is now shifting like the coupe (also was a rescue) which is good. Now that the weather is no longer miserable, I swapped the daily 451 for the 450 cab again. So, some minor issue with the roof is that it seems to struggle fully closing through the first stage. The tracks are extremely dry, so I’m going to lube those (the proper way). But first I want to trash the current side rails. They’re in bad shape with torn seals and multiplying rust. The bigger issue is that I cannot get the second stage to drop. The roof makes it all the way back to the second stage, but it just won’t drop. I can hear the motor attempt to do it, but no movement. I’m not familiar with the cabrio mechanisms. Is there a lock or something that keeps the second stage from dropping? If I locate the crank and where to stick it, should I be able to manually work it down? I’ve read a couple threads on here where somehow that ended being the solution...lube then cycling the roof a few times (with manual cranking to assist) to spread it around.
