Hello I'm parting out my 2005 smart fortwo cdi. One of the valves got damaged from the rocker and it isn't worth fixing anymore. Besides that everything else worked great. 2 of 3 injectors were recently rebuilt. New crank sensor. New fuel regulator. High pressure pump still cranks at 379 bar. Alternator and starter both work great. Summer tires on alloys and winter tires on steelies. Turbo, muffler. Let me know what you need and we can work something out! Everything is available still!

So here is the history. 05 cabrio had the dim headlights issue. I changed the bulbs to oem and replaced the male sam plug. Was fine for 3 weeks then had the same issue. Pulled the sam out, had a good look at it an the male plug was toast..... again. The Pins in the female plug for the sam were very degraded for the low beams and were beyond cleaning up. I opend up the sam and had a look at the solder points and they were not good. Since i have issues with very fine detailed work I had a computer shop unsoldier then directly solder wires to the board and I then put a more robust disconect into the wire harness. It worked great until this morning (about 3 monthes after the fix) when the lights dimmed out again. My question is this. Has anybody done a workaround to properly fix this issue short of buying a new sam? I am thinking along the lines of a switch that would control the low beams only and a relay and totally bypassing the sam altogether. I love the car but the light issue is rediculious and always packs it in at the least oppritune time. Any input would be appreciated. Lonnie

So my 'check engine' light came on and I took my 2011 fortwo to the dealership. Turns out is was a throttle cable and under warranty. I do a happy dance because in Calgary, the dealerships charge $220/hr labour. I drive directly from the dealership to meet my hubby for a movie and when I leave, that's when I notice that my lowbeams aren't working. High beams, signals, tail lights all good. I call the dealership and they check with the techs and say that the work they did was nowhere near the lights or wiring for the lights. Did some googling of this issue and the chances that both fuses blew at the same time seems remote. I replaced the bulbs just a few months ago, so I'm not thinking that's the issue. Any suggestions before I bend over and open my wallet to the dealership?
