smartsally Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I have it!!!!!!!My exhaust is on the smartie and I think it looks great. I am thinking about painting the Blindy valance a shiny black and hope the new muffler stands out through the valance. What do you think? Thanks again Bil for setting me up with my new back end purchases.Pics below. Quote
MikeT Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Good call on the black paint. Flat black would really highlight what you want it to, moreso than shiny black.... Quote
smartsally Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Was debating that too especially because the original valance was a flat black and looked pretty good on the car. Another thing I need help with is what paint brand to go with if I was to do it. The blindy valance is a brushed steel or aluminum so it should take a coat of good paint well I think. Quote
smartsally Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Also would anyone suggest another color completely to go with since the car is totally black already? Quote
Coast Steve Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Take it to the paint shop and go all silver. That's what we wanted originally Quote
David_18 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Nice !!Your panel are very shiny !!!! It is a normal panel or you have change it ? Quote
smartsally Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 Nope, same panels, she just looks hawt after a bath. Quote
darren Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I'd go with a good heat-resistant matte black paint. I've never liked the way steel valances look on the back. And it'll make your exhaust tips stand out beautifully. Quote
smartsally Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 I will look into the heat stuff too, Thanks for all the replies everyone Quote
bilgladstone Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 We can get it properly powder coated for about $35, Sally.B:sun: Quote
Gent Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Hey, that valance looks familiar. Was that mine? Quote
bilgladstone Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Hey, that valance looks familiar. Was that mine? That was my first original Blindschleiche valance before I swapped it out in favour of the Michalak.Yours got recycled to joker but then he modded his oem plastic valance with nice cutouts and trim.Bil Quote
smartsally Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 Nope,,, I wasn't there, I didn't do it Quote
smartsally Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 Ok I think I have decided. Going to go with the powder coat flat black Bil mentioned since it is so cheap and supposed to last long. I looked at the grill as it is and I don't like the two metals together as they are although they look good in pictures. Will let you all see the pics once done,,, wish me luck. Quote
Evilution Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I don't think you have enough Merc stars, 2 more and I think people might start believing it is. Quote
smartsally Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 I have no intentions of making anyone believe but I love my stars,,, didn't we go through this before on another thread with you and someone else? Quote
smartsally Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 I'm on him Ain't nobody gonna dis ma bling. Quote
deezle Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Looks awesome!I agree that a black valance is a good idea. I'd also lose the shiny De Dion suspension ends now that you've got the real deal. Quote
smartsally Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Thanks Deezle, I will consider that too. Once I get the valance painted I might want to add more chrome to the back as long as it won't end up looking junkie. I am thinking of one of those chrome trim things that goes over the licence plate Quote
smartsally Posted September 18, 2007 Author Posted September 18, 2007 Maybe I will shine those two end caps up and tell people those are my after burners. Quote
