MDFortwoguy Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I have been doing a lot of reading, and it seems like smart is only going to be bringing over a 9 spoke wheel for the Passion cars. I've seen a few pics, and I am not terribly fond of this wheel. I really like this wheel, and would like to have it for mine when mine eventually gets here: Does anyone know of a source of OEM wheels for the smart that would hopefully eventually have these for the 451? I'm assuming I will be paying a pretty penny for them, but it might be worth it as long as they are not ungodly expensive. Thanks! Quote

I will probably buy the 12 spoke wheel for my 450 for the next summer ! Quote
MikeT Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Fast Eddy in Richmond BC will have these 6 spoke pulse wheels soon! Quote
Awesys Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I agree that those rims are the nicest looking ones. Quote
SmartCard Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I agree that those rims are the nicest looking ones. ...along with the 5-spoke 16" wheels! In the European catalogue, the 9-spoke were listed as a factory option (although only available after June), while I believe the 5-spoke 16" as well as 6 spoke (15") chrome ones as listed as accessories, presumable available via the dealer. These 6-spoke wheels are listed as only available on the Pulse- but I guess that means they should be able to be "had"! I think I would have prefered the original 12-spoke wheels listed as standard for the Passion vs the 9-spoke ones. Quote
MDFortwoguy Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 I agree with SmartCard on the original Passion wheels. My first preference are the 6 spokes above, and then the 12 Spoke Passion wheels, I also really like the simplicity of the Pure steelies in my avatar... I might pick up a set as winter wheels. The 9 spokes are alright I suppose, but they remind me of some aftermarket wheels I have seen on the roads here. I don't personally think they suit the Fortwo well. Quote
FlyingTigerDevelopment Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 We can have these available now. Quote
gotwavs Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I prefer the 12 spoke wheels to the 9 spokes. But maybe the 9 spokes will grow on me. My favorite rims are the brabus rims. I can't see myself spending that much extra for rims though. Quote
rrrucke Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 We can have these available now.Eddy,Can I have a full view of that rim on the black smart. It looks good but I can't really see it from the angle it was photographed. Thanks,Regina Quote
Fowvay Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I prefer the 9 spoke and the wheel on the black Smart. Love the mad dish on that one... sweeeet! Quote
Fowvay Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I liked it so much I made it my desktop Quote
David_18 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 The rear wheels look larger than the tire. ?!?! Quote
CanadianTurbo Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 A little Euro stretch, I think they look great!!! Quote
SCHMART Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 personally i like it when the tire is the first to scrape, not the wheel.... Quote
rrrucke Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Thanks for the better shots of the wheels. I assume they are wickedly expensive for a set. If not, what will these set you back? Quote
FlyingTigerDevelopment Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 They are 245 rears. (Wider then the Brabus Wide Star 101 450) 17" all around. Expect about $5000/set with tires. Similar to the Brabus 16/17 combination price range. Quote
Guest wescollins Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 The video review has the six spoke wheels. Better than I thought. Quote
smart-wrap Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Does anyone know if the current Brabus wheels will fit the new 451's Quote
