Now that you mention the 5th digit for cabrios. I re-checked all the pics of vins I had. I screwed up all the cabrios in my list above. They should have a K instead of a J. The black pure near the bottom of the list is indicating a 2006 model year.The tenth digit should be "8"....

You are correct. I double checked that vin pic. It was a bit blurry and I mistook the 8 for a 6.WMEEJ31X96K090105 pure coupe black should be:WMEEJ31X98K090105 pure coupe blackWhoops again.

Interesting to see my vehicle's VIN number on the list of Smarts being delivered to the US on 7 January. Looks like they were correct.My dealership in Virginia has not officially opened yet, but I visited them last month when I got word that my Smart did arrive in the States and they said it should be delivered sometime in Feb when the store opens.

Hey Mike & everyone else,I was talking with the GM of the Cary smart center the other day and he mentioned that the 6 cars that are two weeks over due somehow got off the boat in Baltimore, instead of making the trip all the way down to Jacksonville. He didn't know if they come in on one boat & get transfered to another for the remainder of the trip but he thought not. He also said the Smartusa was dragging their feet in get the cars down here. I would think they would put those cars on a truck & get them delivered.Anyhow, thought this info might help in figuring out the tracking.Charles

Thanks for the tip. I am still looking for the "other" shippers, because not all the cars are coming via Wallenius-Wilhelmsen. At least as far as I can tell.

I picked up my car in Sarasota, Floirda on January 26, 2008, as the local Dealership wil;l not open until late February or early March. It was an hour + dive each way but that was fund I got to know "Sara" better.

Name came form a friend as I piced her up in Sarasota. Glad I did not pick her up in "Chipley, Florida" as my wife woul not like the name I gave her (ha ha)

I have not seen any recent listings in this forum of boat loads of cars coming over... My local dealer in Connecticut(as of yesterday) has not received any word yet of any March shipments coming over yet... Is there a production problem with the cars or delays of the ships to the U.S. ports? Anyone heard anything lately? -Paul

I haven't been checking for the Baltimore POE cars in the last month....I am only interested in doing this if I could have got all US cars, but Wallenius-Wilhelmsen does not ship the cars that go to FL and CA, so I basically have dropped it.Do you know your VIN yet? You can track individual cars going to Baltimore yourself. I can give you some tips if you want.

On another site someone posted that his dealer told him there was a hold up at the port and no cars were being released for the next 3 weeks. My dealer didn't know anything and has only delivered a handful of cars.

Sorry to the USA smart buyers; I am only able to track cars arriving in the Port of Baltimore. So I won't be tracking the USA smart arrivals any more.But if anyone whose car will be coming through Baltimore MD needs a hand with tracking, please send me a private message and I'll help you out.

I am attempting to track my 2008 Passion Coupe, which should have left port (I'm thinking) some time around the 26th. of March, headed for Long Beach, CA. I've tried using the VIN on the various sites given, but no luck. Others on this forum seem to have better luck than some in tracking a VIN, so I'm hoping that someone can help. Here is my VIN...............WMEEJ31X58K131135. I'm thinking that it's (hopefully) on the London Express, which left Bremerhaven, Germany on the 26th of March, and is due to arrive in Long Beach, CA on the 18th. of April. I received an e-mail on the 25th. of March from my dealer saying that the status had changed from "shipped" to "in port", which I later found out meant "in port" THERE, not in the U.S. If IN PORT means that it was already loaded on the ship, then it SHOULD BE on the London Express, but there was also a Tokyo Express that left 1 April, and a Kiel Express which left 3 April. My dealer said that they aren't given the names of the ships that our cars are on, so I'm hoping that some of you Super Sleuths can help me locate my car. I'd love to track it! I'd 'kinda be like the time my wife flew in to Frankfurt, Germany and I was in the control tower to watch her plane land! Any help with the VIN, or any information, would be greatly appreciated. Like a LOT of others here, I am getting really anxious and very excited about my "Marty's Smarty!" I've been told probably the end of this month, but I'd really love to have definitive information!!

Does it help to be on more than ONE orphan program to get one of these cars sooner here in the United States (I am in Texas)? I am on the 99.00 reservation program also.
