Brabus Pedals For The 451

Probably one of the most expensive pieces of metal I'll add to my smart, at over $200 these even cost more then the alarm system option and possibly will cause the alarm system to be needed as they differently can be seen from outside of the car and give it a more sporty/flashy look.

Install was easy, no tools at all needed as it looks like smart has built the factory pedals with full intention of users adding on these brabus pedals, I would go as far as saying that they probably at one point thought of offering these items as part of the car.

I'm happy with the new look and the added traction on the pedals does help especially during this winter season with all the snow and grime on the bottom of my shoes, so I'm upgraded to all weather floor mats as I want to protect my carpet during the winter.

Smartster, Looking good. About the snow and grime being an issue during the winter months, this gives me another excuse as to why I should purchase these cool looking items. Thanks for sharing, Regina

I bought the Brabus pedals for my smart 450 and I was told by another member, that he recommend you remove the pedals in the in winter time since the salt will "pit" the shinny surface. I looked at his pedals and you can see small pits in them and he said that it is hard to get them to shine now. I just got my this summer and I removed them about a month ago to protect them from the salt. Maybe I am wrong but I thought that I would mention this.

I have the shiny ones which are chrome plated aluminum - which is notorious for peeling off - the later ones for the 450 came in a brushed chrome finish - they do work good for keeping your foot from slipping though. I have a matching dead pedal project in the works too - got the little rubber baby buggy bumpers and everything!A good cleaning and coat of clear urethane might help in the more salty regions.Cheers,Cameron

are the aluminum ons chrome pplated or just HIGH POLISHED....highly polished chrome is actually shinier than chrome...I think mine are polished..i willl check

They are plated - I got a great deal on them cause there was a little nick in the plated finish by one of the screw holes. Aluminum takes a nice polish but is pretty soft - chrome hardens the surface up quite a bit.Cheers,Cameron
