CedMan Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Hi, new 08 smart passion cabrio owner here.Is there any other options other than the Lorinser and the Brabus ... those are really high ticket items :(Also, is there any place that I can get summer tires for my new ride if i couldn't source our other wheels options... the size seems to be not available from any online store that I visited .... Thanks in advance. Quote
FlyingTigerDevelopment Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Wheels and performance parts for the 451 is slow to develop. We are looking forward to get more of these wheels soon other then Lorinser. http://www.star-lounge.ca/index.php?topic=855.0 They are marginally lower price, but not by much. Also, the additional cost of tire pressure monitors will drive up the package cost for nearly $400.00 CAD. You can check out some wheel deals here http://clubsmartcar.com/index.php?showforum=94 Quote
Smartster Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 There are a few options, TireRack has a set of rims for the smart 451 for less then $600: http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/Whe...mp;autoModClar= Another option is I've bought a couple sets of wheels out of Europe, with tires they cost $2,000 a set and they were basically the rims used on the spy/testing smarts all power coated in black. I have one set the 12 spoke that I will be selling, it has winter tires, so you will need to swap out tires for summer ones, but I'll post once I get the tires off the rims and see if I can't move this items to a new home which will get use out of them. The TireRack option is nice as even with shipping, tax, duty all 4 rims the price to Canada is around $850, far less then I paid for my rims and they are still unique rims that will help set your smart apart from the rest. CedMan Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Thanks alot, nice to see new wheels are starting to appears in the market for the 451 ... I would like to get a bigger one, 16/17 mainly for the reason of fitting wider tires for the summer, I'm hoping it will help the car to be slightly more stable at highway speed. Quote
