booneylander Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 You can see the shift lag even from the stands. Looks like it boogies pretty well with 90hp once it's spooled up and going (briefly, that is, until the next upshift). How's the 150hp coming along? Quote
Guest demarsjcd Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 any updates? do you take it the drag strip? Quote
SergMadness Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 The speed force racing kit is a decent kit even at the low boost levels of the stage 2 --- puts out about 115whp @ 7psiThere are a few things I would add to the kit for more power on pump gas but the kit itself is comprehensive...everything you need for a clean install.I know there is a guy a few hours north of me here in the states running 15psi with no issues on the SFR kit...I would like to chat with him and see what his plans are. Im guessing a built bottom end with maybe 25-30psi and 250-300hp with the right turbine...be interesting to see how long the trans holds at those power levels...Most of the crazy guys like myself are considering the turbo busa motor swaps...retain the factory engine in stock config and have the busa motor as the toy (blow it and still have a spare)My main concern with the motor in stock form is the fuel pump and stock intake (plastic) manifold holding elevated boost pressures....that and engine bay heat....I would get a meth injection kit for sure Quote
StarLord Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I know this is a bit dated thread, but my good friend Larry Wu in Burlingame, California has an excellent turbo kit for the 451 smart car, and his shop can also do the installs (well, if you wanted to drive down haha) -- they sound excellent and work well with stock transmission, really gives some awesome extra power, if I recall it was 160bhp with variable boost to about 15-20 pounds (which is insane power!)If anyone is interested, the kits go for about $2,500 USD, let me know and I will pass along his contact information.. Coast Steve Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Well I just watched this vid : And from what I can see there is not much in the way of power over what I already have, unless I'm missing something. I would love to do laps against that car with mine just to see the difference. It also seems to handle stock in the corners. Steve Quote
