yolanda Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I can't even seem to catch their attention sometimes but other times I do get a cheerful wave back. Bikers do the same when out and about, waving in passing at each other. sometimes on my bike I'll see a smart and want to wave at them but they'd see my motorbike and wonder why. LOL Quote
meerkat3 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 New 451 driver here, and I'd wave back at you! If I don't, I just didn't spot you quick enough. Quote

LOLI've had a few bikers give the wave, & I was puzzled at first, then after talking with bike riders at work& in the shops I've been told that they know how it is driving such a small vehicle & the way some other "regular" drivers treat them....lack of respect & courtesy on the road, makes sense I guess Edited October 6, 2009 by strawboss Quote
SMARTER NOW 2 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 We have a CDI 2006, and my boyfriend waves at all the smart cars. So just keep waving eventually it will catch on and welcome! Quote
shakey Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 My wife and I either wave or I turn the fog lights on and off when we see other Smarts. Quote
fairsider Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I wave at other Smarts too, but I find it's only one in five or so that look or acknowledge. It may have something to do with Toronto traffic and watching out for all the bozos changing lanes while talking on their cellphones... Anyway if I can take my eyes off the road long enough, you are sure to get a wave, a smile, or a friendly flash of the high beams from us! Quote
4DM Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Good! I love getting a wave back. I know that this tradition will keep on for a long time because each new owner will feel the same excitement we have all felt when getting a smart! There really is nothing like it! Quote
Leadwing Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I have a fantastic picture of my 175 pound white Great Pyrenees in Bella, but unfortunately the file is too big to attach to this. I'll try to get somebody computer savvy to reduce it so I can post the picture, it's hilarious. Did anyone ever manage to help you to reduce the size? If not, here is a link to a site that will resize for you.http://www.picresize.com/By the way, a bit early (tomorrow) :)Ron Quote
ishkabibble Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I wave when I see another Smartie. Not many in my part of the world but since we're a limited population I think a wave is appropriate. We always did this on the motorcycles as well.Ish Quote
