Should I bother to de-lip my cdi?

I was reading some posts here and there, and came across the de-lip mod on th air intake. Most people say it does not really add any performance to the diesel models, but the question to me now is if there is any downside in doing it?

It seems like a fun, quick and easy project, and even if it does not add anything to the car's performance I would do it just for the fun of it, but since some people questioned the possibility of water getting in after you remove the lip, I wonder what the opinion is for most people here.

Is there are possible problems in doing it to my diesel? Its a 2005 Pure.

It is quick, simple and free. The de-lip mod is worth doing, in my opinion, and there is no down side.Bil

How about the water leaking possibility that was mention in the first post? Is that a concern?

So I decided to give it a try.....removed the intake cover and found out that it was already delipped!

I delipped mine just because it was fun to take apart a different part of the car and check it out. I knew it wouldnt do anything much but was still fun to explore the car.
