I could have bought a new 451 passion gasser (Friends and Family sale, $5K off MSRP) in December for 3 grand less than I just paid for a no-mileage BRABUS Canada 1 2006 cdi....I am with Bil, the diesel is unique. The engine suits the car somehow. Yes it's slow, but so what?

Knowing how the booster works and given the choice of driving a car with a throttle response like a factory smart or more like a North American minivan, having driven both I choose the smart. If the original poster is going to become upset that others have unique opinions and are willing to share them, posting opinions on an online forum might lead to a lot of aggravation.

I don't have a problem with people voicing their own opinions but when the person voicing them hasn't even tried the product before debunking it then I have an issue. I must have been sent 20 copies of that darn white paper debunking the booster and as I said there are a lot of white papers (mostly from the Bush administration) debunking climate change. When these folks try the product then they can voice an intelligent opinion. Otherwise it's just sheer speculation on their part and it gets a little annoying answering every last one of them. That's why I said no more sprint booster talk - please, please, please. As I said, the booster is not a miracle worker it just increases the sensitivity of the throttle and that was an objection of mine regarding my smart from day one. As it was with everyone else who installed one. No more problem ok? Still friends?

I've been in touch with SmartMadness, who brought a CDi into their shop and confirmed the SB wouldn't work on the diesel. Not sure why, but there it is.The Canadian CDi is great; given the choice, no way would I trade it for a gasser. Mind you, my wee smartie is not stock ;) Cheers, cousin.Bil :sun:

Bil, Check out the link:http://www.smartmadness.com/servlet/the-66...-Booster/DetailUpgraded to work with the CDI now?HTH

That's definately one goal for the product - to allow more control overall, without providing unlimited potential for stupid. For the cdi, I'm hopeful to get a custom board made that would let me have say, 10 settings to choose from.

Yea, SmartMadness only offers three models of booster. From mile to wild. I'm in the middle. One of my buddies at smartUSAinsider has an adjustable booster that came with his cruise control. I think he said it had four settings but I'm not sure.

Off-topic: Badwolf, why do most of your posts include just a quote of somebody else's post?

It is one way of getting one's post count up.

Sameguy, I got the name right didn't I? Anyway, the answer to your question is I'm new to the site and am still feeling my way around. Number two reason is I'm on a new laptop and haven't ever used a touchpad before. And my third excuse (whoops, I meant reason) is I just broke my right hand so feeling around isn't so easy right now. I think Im getting there. This is in the right spot isn't it? If not PLEASE tell me. Now since fair is fair - where did sameguy come from? Just curious and wish someone else would have brought this to my attention sooner. Thanks, and I mean thatI'll catch on soon I promiseSanford a/k/a Bad Wolf

Interesting... keep me posted, man! I'd be looking for linear throttle response - economy, I'll manage for myself ;) Edited by bilgladstone

Gee, I've never even wanted to drive through a coffee shop. And the booster sure doesn't makee it feel like it wants to. I swear until you guys try the sprint booster you don't have much credibility. For christ's sake what is everybody's problem with a product that improves the "feel" of the smart. And you know what I'm talking about. I almost nicknamed my car "Lurch" Try the product and then get back to me. Until then these kind of messages not only have a kind of rude tone like I'm some kind of idiot who wasted my money on a worthless product. Nothing could be further than the truth and I don't want to hear anything more about the Sprint Booster. It works, I love it and I don't mind driving in automatic mode with a broken hand right now. If you think it's bogus so be it. But I have one and I for one (I guess one) believe it does what it says on the tin. Improves throttle response and control. Haven't crashed through any storefronts yet and doubt if I will. Now before the Sprint I'd say my chances were a little better of driving right into Starbucks.Sorry guys but no more Sprint Booster.
