Thoughts on putting the Star on the smart. No real purpose other than a different look.. What you guys think, cheesy, funny? I think the Star would look good on the rear.

In the UK they seem to be very oppossed to putting a Mercedes star on their smarts.I personally put a star on the rear of my smart when I first got it and thought it looked real good. Showed the cars heritage, and when asked who made the smart, just pointed at the star :D

Debadge - YesStar - NoDebadging adds a nice clean look.

I agree with Mike T - You should do neither. You drive a smart... you don't see people driving Yaris' putting Lexus badges on them...

I liked the way the older cars had the smart logo as a sticker (instead of the chickenbeak chrome), so I pulled that off and put the sticker on instead.

De-badge and then re-badge but get some clear/matte vinyl (or use your carbon fiber material) cut into the shapes of the smart logos and re-apply those. It'll fit in well with the look you've been going for, and it's still proudly displaying your smart heritage.

Logo or badge ? .. yes or no? To me that is a personal decision and only you can decide which 'you' prefer. No matter what you chose, it will show that you are a happy, proud owner of a smart. Either way, people will still know that you are at the very least, slightly different. Otherwise, you and the rest of us would all be driving 'big box' cars (ie - Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc)Do what you want and enjoy the results. Happy motoring. :D

My car is completely debadged. Removed front and rear smart emblems, the fortwo and cdi stickers and even the pulse decals from beside the mirrors.

...................When the panels were being painted, the guy removed the CDI and the fortwo but left the "smart" on. Then he painted over it ! It actually looks cool. You can just barely see the word standing out in relief.Bobb

Hmmm......interesting points all over. On one hand, pissing the Benz guys off seems fun, Duck, I totally agree with you on the smart front thing. I might explore some other options... I did buy this thing to re do to my own likings.

I don't know if it pisses the Benz owners off as much as it makes them chuckle at the little wannabes who "can't afford a real one"..... (I am in character here, I know it's not often true).

More subtle and unarguably true as follows. Yes, the car is a smart. But is also Powered by M-B.

For “Powered by Mercedes-Benz” badge you can go to your local Dodge Sprinter dealer. Sprinter Part# 5124317AA or MB part# A9018177714. Cost should be under $10

Or Daimler-Benz signature windshield decal if you can find one:

You'll probably have to buy this one from eBay etc because I think your dealer will only sell one to those with a M-B VIN.

Dude, thats awesome. I want something a little different. The blue MB crest would look awesome with the grey and Orange, It just doesn't really work with my views though. That said, I did go to the MB VIP section for free coffee and cookies at the auto show. My $$$ goes to MBC Financial......ill take there cookies.
