Welcome to the club and site.....here in Canada we only got the 450 2005-2006 in CDI version unfortunately......thanks to our fresh air sniffing fools.....augh!
I will suggest if you can afford one, look into making up or buying your own STAR machine. It'll save you plenty in the long run if you need to use the help of a shop or dealership to re-teach any systems or swap in computers etc.
Again welcome and we'll do our best to try and help where we can.

Cheers. Well, I've heard your all Smart diesel experts here...don't think there's a lot differences tho.

Yup, they need telling that CO2 makes the planet green. Plus were doing the world a favour by removing all that horrible, black, explosive stuff from the planet....defusing the bomb if you like.

I've had Android Torque for a few years and it's served me well...but the Smart is a bit different.

When finances allow I'm looking at getting the Icarsoft MB V2 to off Amazon...would have it now if it wasn't for needing a new turbo, clutch actuator and as of yesterday, a new egr valve but am looking deleting it instead.

Also need to remove the intake manifold as the egr was blanked off but the blanking plate has a big hole in it. There's also 10mm thick gunge in it. I'm gonna ask in a topic about the intake removal or search it here at least.

Thanks again 👍

Hello ,my name is Ron and I have a 2005 smart for two 450 Diesel. It has roughly 125,000 Kms on it and have had it for 6 yrs. Great little car ! I have chipped it and taken off the catalytic converter and muffler. It’s a little louder but revs way easier and has a lot more power. Still average between 65-70 miles per gallon. Around town about 45-50. Would not sell or trade it for the world.

Welcome to the club and site....very nice.....I will say those are best looking wheels I have seen on a Smart ...Damn!

Also this is the first time I have seen the air vents in the rear side windows. How well does this work and does it allow rain etc in?

Good morning Club Smart Car
I bought my smart cabrio in 2006. I've been using it as a summer driver since we bought it,

I've done very little to mod the car.
But
last summer I added cruise
(thanks Glen, and thanks Stickman)
I've driven this car back and forth between Montreal  and Victoria
Why did I wait so long to add this?

My name is Erhard, I am 62 years old. Married for over 35 years, father of 3 beautiful & smart daughters and grandpa of soon 4 granddaughters. More than 15 years ago I bought my oldest daughter a Smart fortwo and drove it as often as possible, but it was my daughter's Smart. OK, for refueling I was allowed to drive to the gas station anytime! ;) But otherwise she used the Smart intensively, that's what it was meant for. Over the last 20 years I have always driven Audi A6 as a company car, now shortly before retirement I bought a very well maintained & chic Smartie from August 2012 and thus fulfilled a great desire. It is only the second car for us, my wife drives a Passat GTE. Our Dalmatian lady was immediately thrilled and enjoys going out in the new Smartie. I look forward to the exchange with experienced like-minded people.

Regards Erhard
