Willys Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 This is what I was trying to tell you....no it's easy after the first 3 times struggling to figure out the clips. lol. Just pull the flexable covering, floor matting type material out of the way then get under the dash and look closely at the front and back of SAM to see clips, it's not that easy to see at first then you either lift front and wiggle away from rear of dash to get better grip on rear clips to unclip them. It will be frustrating the first few times.....lol Again undo negative terminal of battery first, just to be safe. SAM's aren't cheap! Quote
tolsen Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Mine which is not a SAM but a ZEE unhooks from the front allowing it to swing down for good access. Quote
Willys Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 The SAM needs to be unhooked front and back for access.....a pain in the ass but once you do it a couple of times you get the hand of it......but it's only good if you can remember how to do it after months or weeks of not having to take it down....lol. Getting old sucks....lol Being young and flexible is another plus for working on the SAM......lol. Seriously, there are many many far more difficult things to repair on a Smart in way of getting to them to fix things.... Quote
