I tried so hard to convince a friend to buy the GT, he has been considering it but without driving the car and being on the other side of the country it was to hard a decision.Congrats jonEsmash! I'm very envious!

Hey I just realized.......I'll be "Smart-less" here pretty quick, But I really do enjoy hanging around on our CSC site from time to time.So ...can I still ...you know... "Hang with my Homies" even when It's gone? or do I get tossed aside like an old oily rag. :axehead:

  • 2 weeks later...

So today Mike Flew in to Vancouver and then took the ferry over to see his new car.I picked him up at the ferry terminal in my truck and we then made it down to my place to see the GT.He gave it a good look over and said it was very clean. then it was off again to insure it and do the transfer and then back to put the new plates on.Now time for a test drive (and a pretty fast one too), a little winding section of the highway just in front of my house was the perfect place.Mike seemed very impressed with the handling, stability and power on the run. Then we stuffed the 4 winter wheels in the back along with all paperwork and little fun things included and he was off for the drive back home with a huge grin (see pic).Right now I bet he's nearing the summit of the coquihalla HWY and then down to his place in Kamloops.I will have to ship him the spare set off fat tires though, they didn't fit inside the car.He said he had a few ideas and some small mods planed for the car and this should put his own"mark" on it.Here's a pic of the GT's new owner on his way out. We'll have to see what he posts on the forum about the car after the long first drive.I'm so glad the GT went to a Club Smart Car member, so it's still in "the family"It was very nice meeting Mike today and a good day all around. ;)

Well the GT is now at its new home in my garage, I had a great 4 four test drive over the mountain pass in the rain and dark, but the car performed flawlessly, it sure handles like a true sports car, and I am sure I did surprise a few fellow travellers with zipping by them at surprising speeds.....:)The GT will remain basically unchanged, but with a few additional touches of my own, my only worry now is that my wife has tried the GT and likes it better than our silver convertible smart !! I have attached a picture of both of the cars in my driveway in Kamloops Steve it was great to meet you and I will keep everyone updated on the progress of the GTCheers post-8286-1365281138_thumb.jpg

An update E-mail from the GTs new owner. It comes off the line about the same as my silver non remap version , but power comes on very strong after around 3000 RPM - 4500 RPM. I find it has a good power band for the hills in our area, I had no slow down or lugging when going up one of our bigger hills. I find the biggest difference is the handling, the cornering is amazing, I have bigger tires on my other Smart which are bigger than stock, but this thing is like its on rails. It a great car I plan to keep it the same for the most part, just putting my stamp on a already great car.. I am so lucky to own this one. I have ordered some parts to start the upgrade, I will keep you posted on the updates New grill and badging New rear valanceRepainted front valance to remove the rock chips Replacing front Silver Stripes, same colourSide Air ScoopRear bumper spikesBrabus front flap and some personal touches ......... Thanks again !!
