ian122778 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I am going to try and get at the intercooler this weekend, any tips? Mine is leaking and I am hoping to try dmoonens repair. What do you mean by attaching a vacuum? And what do I grind down to keep it from chaffing? Also, I must also be missing the scoop, where does it go? Quote
ian122778 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Thank you. I see exactly where you are talking about. Was yours repairable or did you replace the intercooler? Quote
dmoonen Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Pulling a vacuume (I have some fancy tools but a shop vac would do even) basicly allows the epoxy to mushroom inside the damaged section causing a proper and strong bond. I've been doing it without a problem for years. For really bad ones I've been carefully aluminum tig welding them. Quote
