MikeT Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Oh yeah, screw the Hayabusa! That one is rocking! Quote
Coast Steve Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Wow what a lousy vid location though I wish I could be closer or from the side. Quote
3UP Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 8.8 sec 1/4 mile time wow, I found a few vids of that car with allot slower times would love to see a good vid of an 8 sec run . Quote
Coast Steve Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I really don't think it can be 8 seconds.Someone may be stretching the truth a little there.11.s and 12.s are the total max I would say, 8 second times are a whole different world Quote
David_18 Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) I have not seen for 8.8 seconds, but I saw the 11 seconds vs Mustang.11 seconds was done without the antilag, then it may be possible. Edited May 26, 2013 by David_18 Quote
Francesco Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Anybody want to repost a non-Facebook, non-Flash version of this stuff? Quote
bilgladstone Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Non-flash? I will never understand why some manufacturers chose to make ubiquitous flash unavailable to their users. Or maybe I'm missing something.B Quote
Francesco Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 It's the other way around. Flash is a monopolistic, buggy semi-standard forced upon the public. It's an archaic resource hog that will soon be replaced by the open standard HTML5. If this were not the case, Google would not have started switching all their former Flash-only products to HTML5 (I.e.: YouTube). Quote
Francesco Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I watched on my Dozer laptop. Wish I could've seen it from the stands! Quote
Overkll Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Well, that's some not-so-good video. I can't find a good video of this car.But 8.8sec at 1600lbs would be over 150MPH, which means you need a chute (which it has). That would put it at around 420HP (online calculator) which the 1000cc turbo can easily make based on my brief internet search. So plausible... bring on the Mythbusters!Would this even be able to be street-driven? Quote
Lito Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 So plausible...Mathematically, perhaps. But they also tried to convince us that we went to the moon and we all know how that ended up. Quote
Coast Steve Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) I still say high 11 seconds MAX, maybe even 12's. Most really fast motorbikes are only in the 9's -10's (like 1000cc and 450lbs) As far as I remember a car would need to be all "tubed out" with wrinkle slicks for traction and have "ladder bars" mounted since traction would be a huge issue for anything in the 8's and 9's, Something like this: And here's some talk about it. These guys now their stuff: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/8-second-q...mile-27046.html Edited May 28, 2013 by Coast Steve Quote
David_18 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 I saw 11.x Seconds, but not the 8.8Sec, this is someone who told me that. Quote
