Wasted
Hello everyone. I know that this is my first post and I'm already soliciting help but I have a smart stuck in my driveway and desperately need help.So......Mrs. Wasted had an 'incident' on Thursday and there was a relatively Minor front end impact to her 2011 Smart Fortwo Passion. There is no visible damage to the vehicle except where the license plate bolts damaged the plate itself. She backed the car away from the inanimate object that she hit and thought that she had dodged a bullet. Yesterday morning she is ready to go to work, reverses onto the road, and then the car won't shift into Drive. It will shift between P, N, and R as per normal but that's as far as it goes. Being rear engine and RWD so I'm sure that there isn't any transmission damage, so I'm thinking either a sensor or linkage issue. Does anyone 'round here know anything that might help me diagnose the issue. I'm good with a wrench and do my own maintenance work on my TDi, but I don't have any experience with Smarts. FYI - I have checked all fuses relating to transmission and take then center console off but see nothing obvious.
Lito
Sorry I cannot offer any true useful answers, but since no one else has come forward at least I'll help by bumping this thread.I was under the impression that the stick shift was only a switch. Am I wrong? anyone?
MikeT
Have you tried the re-teach as per the manual?
