TrishM Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I'm looking to 'upgrade' to the ED and currently own a 2008 yellow smart - passion I believe (the one with the panoramic roof and leather interior).Buttercup has just shy of 40,000KMs on her (should hit that in a week or two) and I've had her since 2008. She looks new (most are shocked when they find out she is almost 6). Just wondering if you traded your gas smart in what was MB offering for them? Also, another question, is the interior roughly the same size in the ED as the Passion 2008? I bought some coco mats in 2008 which I would love to keep for the ED if I could (also planning on the yellow). Thanks in advance!Trish Quote
Huronlad Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Interior dimensions are the same. The best value for your 2008 will come from selling it yourself. There are loyalty rebates from smart for current owners buying a new smart. All the incentive info is on the smart website. Quote
KurtMan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Contact Noah @ MB Markham, I've spoken to him and he seems like a really good guy.noah.kroll@mercedes-benz.ca Quote
dpollo Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Three Point in Victoria appraised my 2008 Pure with A/C 70 000 miles andbrand new tires at $3850. The appraiser noted the tires had 80 % wear left. Lazy*** didn't even bother to look. Not to mention the vehicle had just been serviced and detailed. I bought the ED anyways and later sold my '08 to a friend for a fair price, but lower than the "average" retail price which I gather is about $ 6800. I vow I will never buy another vehicle from TPM as long as that appraiser is working there. On top of that, the day I bought the ED, I also received a letter from TPM saying that their sales staff was authorized to offer higher than average trade in allowances. Baloney. Quote
lharris Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I bought my ED to replace my 2005 Diesel smart but didn't take the trace in as they offered me much to little. I will probably sell it privatly but my brohter is usinging it right now. I did get a loyaltly rebate for being an currrent smart owner. Quote
darren Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Keep in mind that trade prices are going to be based on wholesale pricing, not retail. So you're never going to get its true "value" on a trade vs. selling privately. Quote
