Smartmex Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I removed a couple of hoses from my 2006 CDI. I did this to make space to remove the intercooler. But when I disconnected the hoses, a liquid came out, which it seems like water with coolant. Does this type of car uses water as a coolant? If so, were shall I add water to replace the one drained from the hoses???? Thanks for you help. Quote
smart142 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 You probably disconnected the coolant line to the EGR. Quote
Smartmex Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) You probably disconnected the coolant line to the EGR. Exactly, one of the hoses goes to the EGR...can you tell me how to add water? Although not much water was drained, I suppose now I need to do a refill. Thanks Edited August 24, 2015 by Smartmex Quote
dmoonen Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 In the coolant fill in the front of the car under the vent? Quote
stickman007 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Don't forget to bleed the air out of the system by removing the coolant temperature sensor (remove the circlip very carefully) on top of the thermostat. FQ101 has a good write up on the topic. Quote
