smart142 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Aug 29, 2015 DurhamRegion.com By Ryan Pfeiffer DURHAM – Driving a car is a reality of my job as a newspaper photographer. I average between three and four jobs a day throughout the region so I’m always on the move. And whenever I drive somewhere, of course I have to park. We’re pretty lucky here in the region. There is a lot of free parking and our streets aren’t all that busy. Having said that, you always want to park as close to your destination as possible. That’s where I have an advantage over most drivers on the road. I drive a Smart car. One of the greatest things about this car is its ability to squeeze into places most drivers wouldn’t even consider. Over the past year I have been documenting some of my most impressive parking feats. 8 - Simple street parking This is probably the most common way I take advantage of my Smart car. When another driver has left just a little bit of space between their vehicle and a driveway, street, or another car. 7 - End of the driveway The small sliver of land between the sidewalk and the road looks like it was designed with this car in mind. 6 - Snowy parking lot A common sight in winter months, snow piled up in parking spaces. No problem! 5 - Durham Region Headquarters This guy was taking up most of two spots at Durham Region Headquarters because of the trailer. But it wasn't a problem for the Smart car. 4 - UOIT The angled curb makes for a Smart car sized parking spot at the Campus Ice Centre at UOIT. 3 - Holiday Train Anyone who has seen the Holiday Train in Oshawa knows that it's a parking disaster. I managed to find this spot nice and close to the action. The garbage bin may have deterred others but it didn't bother me. 2 - GM Centre I managed to snag this spot right in front of the GM Centre before a Gens game. Don't worry, the white vehicle still had room to back up and get out if he needed to. 1 - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Even with a tree behind me I took up less space than this truck and van at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. http://www.durhamregion.com/whatson-story/5815416-eight-places-i-can-park-my-smart-car-in-durham-where-you-can-t-park/ 1 Quote
marchanna Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I think I have capitalized off all those situations also. Here's another one: Quote

kdubya Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) Heres mine. I call it my Home Depot executive parking. I spend enough there, I should have one. Edited August 31, 2015 by kdubya Quote
