Grundig radio code generator...

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies and Germs.....I have generated the 8 didget radio code off my CH341A chip using the reader and program....so far so good.   The next trick is to some how get the code breaker program to get the actual radio safe code from the 8 diget number off the chip. I have tried for days to find a working program....I have spent more time into the days range searching for this program and a buddy has just given up after a 3 1/2 hours stint trying to help me.
So, if anyone has this code breaker program or can direct me to an actual  operational program or where i can get it, it'll be greatly appreciated...to say the least!  I have an old laptop all geared up and ready to receive the extra bugs and viruses etc etc that comes with the program so no worries there.  I am so close to getting another problem solved regarding the winter machine.....at this rate it'll be ready for spring...lol.

Thanks very much for all help.

No, I have been dealing with my injectors bleed back testing, then the wife had a serious issue with her car.....she couldn't get the door locks to work correctly....nearly had a meltdown..lol.   So I have been pulled away from the radio as it's not even in the dash yet....the codes won't go bad will they? So as long as I have them I can get things organized as I'm told, she comes first so she says!  She goes go out to work every day so maybe she's right..?  Her door locks don't open when she turns the vehicle off or just the driver's door and not the passenger's and the passenger starts fighting to get out.....so with the wife trying to unlock the car from her side switch and her mother going insane trying to get out immediately...it's driven the wife also insane by the way she described her day.....lol.   I'll get to my car again tomorrow....sorry to keep you waiting and thanks for the codes by the way!

Hello, welcome to the site.....easiest solution buy an aftermarket radio and install it, far easier imho. UNLESS you demand to keep it stock.  IMHO, go over to Evilution.co.uk and pay their lowest donation and research there. It is by far the best technical library of information on SmartCars.  The only issue is, there is zero chatting ot asking questions.  IF you can't figure it out on your own , contact Kane the owner of the site and ask him if he can help you out.
Like i said before, it can be done but it isn't easy.  I simply wanted Bluetooth after learning what it meant to have it after not having it.  I installed a simple radio using it's own fused power supply and new speaker wiring, simply as not to upset the car's electronics. It worked fine.  You can also buy radio bezzles for cheap also...$20 or so off Ebay or such.
Hope this helps.

Again welcome

So @Willys - you never ever did post if either of the codes worked for you?

Anyway, this is an interesting topic, as I have no manual set for the smart I just bought, but the radio is working currently....

But I guess it won't be for long if I disconnect the battery in due course

Have asked the guy if he had the manual set somewhere, but no luck

How does one get the 8 hex digits off the chip?

I called my closest MB dealership service department (must have been a slow day), initially they gave me a generic code, it did not work, called back and they asked for the last 4-6 digits of my VIN, I was on hold for a couple of minutes and they came back with the right code.

Well that's interesting, because I did read that. Apparently the star system can figure out the code from your VIN number, but I'm not sure that people outside of the Mercedes-Benz platform can actually access that part or not....
