andyjk Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Hi, Following message showed up on my dash this morning: Malfunction Serv.Req. No warning lights just the message. Looking through the car's manual it says that there's a malfunction in the coolant compressor or in the heating/coolant circuit. My heating and air-con work fine. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks Andy Quote
Blaine Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Assuming it is a 451... I caught a coolant leak on the pump in the motor compartment and MB had to drain the system and replace the seals on the pump. The coolant level was down but I noticed it because of what looked like dampness on the pump. 1 Quote

My AC also appeared to be working OK. Is your car the older 2014(ish) ED or the current model? Edited May 18, 2019 by Blaine Quote
andyjk Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 It’s a 2015 model. I haven’t noticed and leakage under the car but I didn’t look under the hood. I’ll take it to the garage tomorrow and hope it’s nothing to serious. The garage told me the car has a cooling system for the battery as well. Quote
jwight Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Pretty sure that message is tied to the battery coolant system. Quote
andyjk Posted May 22, 2019 Author Posted May 22, 2019 yes, as it turned out the valve to the battery's coolant system wasn't working and needs to be replaced. the car is barely 16.000 km old 2 Quote
