Hi All

I have a 06 CDI with only 90k on it and now it won’t turn over, the cars been frustrating I just changed the alternator for a now charge issue ( i thought) and now the car won’t turn over.

When I try to start it it just clicks fast like the starter pinion is moving back and forth. I put the booster on it and it just does it faster.

I don’t think it’s my battery everything else on the car works fine. Is it possible the cable can be corroded from the battery to the starter/alternator or is it a bad ground.

the car did try to start once but I can’t get it to do it again.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Can you turn the engine over using the crank bolt? Or Alt bolt..?
If you can then I'd go after the main grounding strap going from engine to bodywork. Then check the flat spade connector that fires the solinoid, but that sounds like it's working.  Did you disconnect your battery when you swapped out the ALT..?  The main power wire that supplies the ALT also supplies the starter.......what does the connection look like, corroded?  The end loop or connector on my starter power cord was green!  I made up two new ones , so each item has it's own power cord fro now on. This way I can easily remove either item without fighting power cords. I cut the main power cord in front of the sub frame and then added loop connectors at each end of each wire to join them all together and then wrap in rubber etc to shield power from shorting out.
First i would charge up your battery and make sure it has a full complete charge, then start with the rest, just saying, "KISS"  Keep It Simple Stupid  usually is the right thing to do.

Hope this helps.
