vultureboy Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Hey all, I've got a 2009 451 Smart, and I can't seem to get it to start. I turn the key, and the starter doesn't make a sound. I thought it might be a dead battery, so I hooked up one of those portable jump packs, but no luck. The battery shows about 11.7 volts, which should be more than enough to turn it over. I pulled the starter, and had it tested, and it's perfectly fine. Any suggestions? Quote
Huronlad Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 The combination of the battery under 12V and a booster pack may not be enough to raise the voltage enough to engage the starter. Either charge the battery or boost from a running vehicle. Quote
Wild! Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) The positive cable has a fuse check if it's blown. Edited September 27, 2020 by Wild! 1 Quote
