brd Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Unfortunately this is an independent design concept for a new smart roadster and is not endorsed in any way by smart. Instead of a smart roadster, Daimler & Geely are building a smart 5 seater SUV about the size of a mini Countryman. I know which of the two I prefer and it doesn't carry five people. https://www.carscoops.com/2020/06/futuristic-2025-smart-roadster-study-makes-a-convincing-case-for-a/ Browse through the photo gallery for a better look at this. 2 Quote
MikeT Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 There's no money in this sort of car these days so no-one in charge of smart is likely going to try this again. Quote

That’s one of the reasons why Daimler prematurely axed the roadster in 2005/6 in the midst of prepping a mid generation refresh version. Unfortunate for us as they had also been working on a Chrysler roadster prototype for the North American market. The brains currently running smart think money is to be made selling relatively small electric SUV’s. Unfortunately they may be right. 2 Quote
