smartme
Any reliable budget struts for my 2005 rear tailgate? Mine have deflated.

smartme
Thanks for the link! Are they any better than the $16.00 ones at aliexpress?
Willys
Don't buy those for that price FFS...I bought 2 sets for pennies compared to that if I remember right....I'll search out through my past 2 or so years of purchases....augh!!!!!

lebikerboy
$90.00 Cdn after adding shipping and exchange is not such a great deal... To say nothing of how long it will take to get them plus taxes etc. may be assessed.
smartme
Yeah, I just checked and it was about $90 Cdn! I took a risk and ordered for $20 cdn which included shipping the ones from aliexpress. Probably crap or over pressured where the tail gate will fly open and bounce off my chin but have to give it a try knowing how so many brands throw their name on a product and then you find out they are just knock offs from China with a label anyway. lebikerboy
Probably a good choice...
smartme
haha, oh well, I've had about 90% luck with stuff from aliexpress so the odds are still looking good...
smartme
The aliexpress strut arrived but only one instead of two. My mistake when ordering but the one strut has enough boost to life the tailgate. Not sure if it will last the winter or not though.
lebikerboy
So, order another?
LooseLugNuts
$14 each at rock auto i remember buying mine for around $20/pair on ebay but that was a long time ago

Looks like I don't need to as it's over boosted and with the other strut lifeless, it lifts the tail gate perfectly.
lebikerboy
If design intent based on load is to use two struts only using one will result in one half or less normal life expectancy...
Mjolinor
At best, a broken rear glass at worst.
Willys
At the insane amount of $450 for that rear window from the local wreckers, I wouldn't twisting it by only using one strut, but that's just me...sorry....to each their own as usual....
