phulatt Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Hi All Not sure how to explain it, but my glass roof has just gone weird. Its delaminating and now looks like an oil slick. Time to try sanding/buffing & polishing. Before having to bite the bullet on new glass. The rest of the car is perfect. Just the roof that's gone manky.. Any tips would be appreciated. Quote
Willys Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 (edited) Another option, try searching out a secondhand roof from breakers yard that is far better than yours? You can get roof off using a glass removal tool or a sharp blade in a recipricating saw and some lube. Start from outside at rear then the rest from the inside. Done one with success, ready for when and IF my roof shatters or delaminates. Good luck. Edited July 26, 2022 by Willys Quote
phulatt Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 2 Days of sanding, through the grits, then compound and polishing, finished with gtechniq ceramic glass coat. . Not a 100%, but much improved than before . .. 3 Quote

LooseLugNuts Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 that looks great i hope it lasts....i suppose even if the sun gets to it again it wont need as much elbow as the first time though...probably just a quick polish each year to maintain it Quote
