MWrighty94 Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 My 2014 smart fourtwo electric car tailgate window wouldn't lock into place properly when closing. Required me the to push it down to trick car into locking. This is an easy job to replace motor/solenoid. I bought 2nd hand part £20 online considering Smart garage charging £150+ to order and fit part. The job took 10 minutes to do only 7 screws in total. My issue was I removed motor which permanently locked in the tailgate window in. This is not an issue for standard petrol version as the housing over the lock mechanism clips out. On electric version it's moulded so required me to create a not so tidy hole in moulding to manually release tailgate window. Nothing regarding the electric online hope this thread helps anyone who comes across this issue. Quote
