I noticed today that my heated seats do not start if there is no one sitting in the seat.

 

I started the car and turned the seats on 10 minutes or so before I went out due to oodles (by UK standards) of ice and when I got in the seats were still cold. Once I sat down they came on and stayed on if I got out.

 

This seems totally weird to me.
