Anyone figured out how to ditch the Immoblizer...?

Recommended Posts

OK, I'm sick and tired of issues with the immoblizer and the worry about key fobs not connecting to it meaning you must re-program your fobs etc.  Our cars are not on the hit list for becoming the most stolen vehicles imho at their age, are they?  I'm sure someone could get the door locks to energize, open and close and not need the immoblizer engaged to operate the actual key to start the car...maybe?
Do we have anyone here that can get this deep into the electronics...?

What signal is being sent to the SAM or ECU or Speedo that couldn't be generated by a simple switch?

Someone must know how to dig deep into the smoke box to figure this out.  Think about it, never having to worry about not being able to start your car because the key fob won't work..? I'm down to may last fob. I'm waiting for new micro switches to repair two of my many fobs.   AUGH.....I know I'm not the only one.....

This is as far as I know:

There is a relay looking antenna under the handbrake cover. That receives the signal from your FOB. It then goes through to the SAM and translated into data. The ECM approves/declines the immo data and allows the SAM to turn everything on. The cluster has to be coded to the vehicle, but it's not part of the immo process other than displaying the key symbol.

You can take send your ECM or do a hex dump file to some less than reputable sites - they can delete the immo portion of the file/ecm. I will not name any sites here, but pm me if you're desperate.

If you just want to lock/unlock the doors without playing it the immo. You can just splice into the door wires to/from the SAM like guys that do remote starters - pinouts can be found on evilution.

Try Googling "EDC15 immo off" if you want to edit the ECM file yourself. But then you'll have to find someone to do checksum before you can upload the file again.

Hmmm...?  Do you have the skills and brain to do this....buddy....Ol Pal.....lol.

You should be able to download the ECM file with the KWP2000+ (same tool for uploading tunes). One of the more popular programs used to edit the file is WinOLS. Once you have the immo address on the file, changing a few digits is not difficult. I don't know of a reliable source to do checksum, rumour has it that some people will do it for free or around $10-20 each time. Upload the file and try once you get to this step. Have fun! don't brick the ECU!

Go read Digital Kaos.

https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk

I remapped my 450 with Winols and read/wrote the ECU with a KWP2000+.

I had a go at the maps but gave up and scrounged a file off Digital Kaos. Too much risk or not enough bottle.

I seem to remember that Winols does the checksum but it has been over ten years.

This is what I'm afraid of.....plain and simple.......I have 3 other ECU's and can reteach them to work in my car, BUT, why kill them off one by one......augh!!!!!!

I've already toasted one trying to clean the pins....FFS....lol

It's the only computer that stores a charge from what i have found out, the hard way...lol
