I forgot to introduce myself, been creeping here after I bought a 05 smart Fortwo CDI back in Dec as a cheap alternative to my truck while my electric car was being repaired, always wanted a smart car and found a deal of a car with only 73k kms l couldn't say no to. Now I'm just playing with things to make it perform a lil nicer.

I'm just trying to tweak it to make it easier to pop on the highway, I already purchased a smart madness pedal controller and love the customizablity of that, but it still doesn't have enough oooomph for the hills around here, well the new ecu program I threw in lastnight seems better but I like to tinker

These cars will never be comparable to a race car... but with the right tune they do pull you up a hill...

Well , I have had several tunes and even purchased the Malone tune ... just saying not really worth it.

I have on the other hand made several that really put a little extra umph into them.

On the west coast, the tune Eddy does at Flying Tiger makes the acceleration adequate, and gives 155 km/h on flat road.

yeah ive seen all the good reviews of eddy's tune, problem being hes the other side of the country so id pretty much have to remove the ecu and ship it but there is a chance of losing the ecu and i dont wanna go that where the car is 19 years old now, parts are becoming harder to find, more costy

You can find parts like ECU's and SAM's etc easily from a few here in Ontario and also Alberta....so don't worry too much on that front.  The issue is you need that Star system to teach the new ECU to speak with the rest of the system IF you have to replace it.
