COSTA
HELLO, I have a smart 451 petrol 2008 MHD. I have the following problem, I drive the car and then I turn it off, and seconds later it won't start. It only starts again after we hear a clicking noise from the front of the car.(we wait 20/30 seconds) The car has a new battery, new clutch, actuator, new programming, new starter/alternator. This problem was solved when the mechanic soldered the fuse wiring, he told me, the problem returned after a year. Has anyone had this problem?, is this a relay problem? thank you very much Edited March 18, 2024 by COSTA
Smitten
Hi Costa, If this is the same as my 2013 MHD then the alternator morphs into a starter motor & turns the engine over via it's drive belt. You can check to see if the drive belt has broken & remedy if needs be. If not broken & the alternator does not turn then it may be an issue with the electronic starter pack. Mine won't start either but that is because the damped crank pulley inner rubber has disintegrated. Good Luck !
