Littleharoldeh
Good day, so my smarty wouldn’t start, went to boost and under floor matt was all wet. I’m sure it’s the ac drain plugged, problem is where is the ac drain line on these 450s. Just found videos and pics for the newer models. There’s no hose around the battery that I can seem to find so not sure where it runs. Any thoughts
Willys
AC drain plug? Coolant or rad? Heater core? Typically it's the windshield that is leaking.....mine you could get a screwdriver between the glass and the bodywork...!!! it was so bad!!! Look for drip marks below the windshield area especially if you have any dust in that area. You can always lift up the rubber shield around the glass and see if there is any rusting there, just don't pry glass in any way. The other areas are sun roof, soft top and the rear corner windows. They also are a well known culprit for soaked carpets. I permanently siliconed mine in place, yes not the right way, but it solved the leaking after trying to reseal the foam type seals. To each their own...
Littleharoldeh
No it’s gotta be ac drain hose, not uncommon either from what I read but just can’t find it on this car so far. No rain here, been hot and ac working hard.
Willys
I removed my AC, so don't have this issue....lol...I guess....sorry I'm no good to you as I can't remember seeing a drain hose and I have had the entire car gutted....Hmmmm...? Sounds like you may have to lift your carpets and run the AC until you see where it's coming in from? Unless a helpful member chimes in.....sorry. smart142
Remove the front grill, the passenger side turn signal, then with a light look up to the firewall high and to the right. there is a U shaped black rubber hose that can be pulled off. It often has debris in it that prevents water flow. Cut the end off. Mercedes pinched the end to prevent spider ingress. Don't run your AC till you do this because the water backing up into the car can damage the Canadian E box causing major issues.

Thank you, that was it, ya plugged, not solid but enough to make a mess, ya hopefully nothing major will happen..what kind issues did people have with that ebox ?
Willys
The inside of the E box turns white, wash with vinegar and a toothbrush and recoat with clear nail polish. Stopped all future corrosion. That E box is connected to more than you want to know....as it's nearly impossible to delete so I'm told. Then move to a higher location......Mine is attached to the dash frame bar. Yes I had to fiddle with the wiring harness to get enough cable to get it neatly to this location but no wire cutting etc.
