Gent Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Y'know, that little icon that associates with an URL when you add it to your favorites? A little chickenhead or smart car would be perfect I think. Quote
IMSMRT Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 that would look so much cooler than the little blank page! S Quote
TFM Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Does anyone recall off hand what you have to do to get it to appear? Quote
Gent Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 This one might be better on a grey background Quote

Awesys Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Sometimes you don't even need to put any HTML code in. Just plop the favicon.ico file in the root directory. Quote
Gent Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 I just added the grey icon to my webpage. oooooo I'm a perfossionel now baby! Quote
Gent Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Sometimes you don't even need to put any HTML code in. Just plop the favicon.ico file in the root directory. I tried that, but Exploder didn't pick it up. I bet Firefox would tho. Quote
SmartieParts Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 should work with IE.... it was a Microsoft gem early on. Seems to me it only works IF someone adds to their favs though.. .then it shows in their favs and in the address bar. If they don't add it, then it also won't show up in the address bar. - Steven Quote
Gent Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 yep, that's right. What wasn't working was just dropping the .ico file into the root index. I had to add the HTML to reference the file before it was picked up when I added it to favs. *edit*: Steven - you need one as well! Quote
IMSMRT Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 c'mon now all the cool kids are doing it.... Quote
spinner Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 That favicon should have a date and time in it for your convenience. Then everyone can recycle the page frequently for updates. Quote
ARTZ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Here is another GIF that you might want to use. Quote
ARTZ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Here is one that 32x32 which I don't think will work but here it is anyway. Quote
SmartieParts Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I think it has to be 16x16x16 to work (last 16 is number of colours). The 32x32 could be used by someone that places the link to the club site directly on their desktop though - Steven Quote
SmartieParts Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Great... now can you squeeze in "for everyone who loves smart cars" in the center of the chicken head there? - Steven Quote
ARTZ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Great... now can you squeeze in "for everyone who loves smart cars" in the center of the chicken head there? - Steven It is already there. Take a close look. Quote
SmartieParts Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Hehe... is this where you smack me in the nose as I bend over to look? Quote
ARTZ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 That is exactly what I was going to do, but I don't know how to send a SMACK through these fourms. Maybe we can get some new interactive improvements to these fourms Quote
Gent Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Actually, it's in brail. You have to feel your screen... Quote
