MikeT
Occasionally the fuel gauge will read more than 5.0 L when the countdown arrow starts flashing - for example, on a hill, where it can go to 5.5 or 6.0. Yesterday I refilled the car for the first time in a month and the fuel sender got sticky and the flashing 4.5 L warning was on when I left the station. As the fuel additive and recirculating fuel began to do its thing as I drove on, the flashing warning went up in increments over a period of 30 minutes, 0.5 L at a time, until hitting 9.0 L when I snapped this photo (the flashing arrow happened to be off when I got the image): A couple of minutes later the gauge went up to 5 blobs filled (i.e. full).
