smartme Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Looking for MPG gauge that would connect to the OBD II port. Really only interested in mpg and nothing else. Is there any good one out there that is accurate and real time? Quote
Avenge95 Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 I have a ScanGauge I could sell you. It was previously in a 450. @stickman007 uses one in his car and says it works well. Quote
stickman007 Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 I have a custom 3D printed bracket that mounts the scangauge2 above the mirror as well. The Scangauge is probably the most simple/compact setup to track mileage/fuel economy and double as a digital gauge. You could make your own with bits and pieces using an arduino if you’re nerdy enough. There are a lot of DIY digital obd2 gauges online instructions, but if it’s only for keeping track of fuel economy, highly recommend just getting a scangauge. 2 Quote
smartme Posted July 16, 2025 Author Posted July 16, 2025 Sorry for the late reply, have been in the boondocks for awhile! Stickman007, if I make my own, would it give real time mpg? I'm assuming the scanguage is real time but it would be fun to make my own because I like being a nerd. Avenge95, I may get one from you if I fail at making a good one by myself thanks. 1 Quote
stickman007 Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 If you search h diy obd2 gauge, you’ll find many different setup. Real time mpg is a calculated value, it’ll depend on your coding. If you’re not already familiar with arduino/esp/raspberry pi, then just buy the scangauge2. Quote
