SmartFlyer Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 Yes, it only happened once. I noticed the site was down yesterday for about 45 minutes, and then the db was unavailable for a while in the afternoon. I saw your announcement posted a few minutes ago that the db move is complete, so I'm guessing the above error and the short outages yesterday were caused by the db move and isn't of further concern. Thanks for your efforts to speed up the forums - it is great so far! Quote
TFM Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Sorry for the delay, I just got all your databases moved. They are now on a new server called scooby. The old one, jake, was a bit slow and so it took longer than expected to move them. Sorry about that. root@yakko ~ $ ssh jake uptime 11:14:49 up 4 days, 22:03, 0 users, load average: 19.79, 21.93, 19.43 root@yakko ~ $ ssh scooby uptime 11:14:52 up 4 days, 22:53, 0 users, load average: 1.88, 1.94, 1.90 So you should have faster databases now, and all new databases you create will go to scooby now as well. Give it a try and let me know if you have further problems or questions. The move took much longer then anyone thought. The old server "jake" was also very overloaded partly because of us. heh heh. So it's confirmed done now and any errors were prob ally caused from it being moved. I'm actually amazed it went as smoothly as it did. Quote
