I figured I'd check in here FIRST before I post anywhere else
My background - a "car-guy" through and through. Owned darn near 100 cars in a little over 20 years. Been part of the smug hybrid crowd, I have a vegee powered Jetta that my injector pump is out on right now, working on some classics at the moment too. Had many many classics from Euro stuff to American iron Porsche 356C, Impala, Falcon drop-top, Vettes, & Street Rods just to name a few.
The wife has a problem with me getting cars BUT she has been persistent for the last few years on getting a Smart, so I told her "when" they are US spec-ed we'll get one. I put my reservation in late intentionally as I've been a victim of first off the line first year models before. It is absolutely killed me to do that
Anyway, I originally opted for the cheepo Pure model but when the time comes to do the actual ordering I'll be going for a Yellow/Black (w/red interior if avail) Passion. gauges, nicest stereo, anti-theft and I "think" that is it. As I mentioned before, I was late to the game with a Sep. 9 reservation. I went to Jacksonville on Thursday Oct 11 and test drove. I liked it. Power reminds me of my old Geo Metro without the shifting.
