"But what about battery replacement cost in 8 years...?" "What about battery fire hazards...?" "Aren't they destroying the roads due to their weight....?" I don't understand why people continue to find new excuses to justify keeping their ICE in the name of practicality. I personally love hybrids and EVs. Its awesome that you've kept track and post your experience and savings. My Brabus Canada 1 gets about the same $1375/year in fuel (if driven all year round), Focus RS $4130, and GLK250 $2292... The Fiat 500e cost $315 in electricity...and there's almost no maintenance. We just ordered a 2026 Model 3 Premium awd...can't wait! Iz -
I should also add that it's very quiet and comfortable, the heated and ventilated seats are great, the leather is nice, the huge sunroof is fabulous, the rear air suspension (self-levelling) is cool for off-roading due to the height setting being adjustable. Not that we've gone off-road yet....our passengers also like the comfortable heated rear seats.

Just over a year later, 13 months more or less into the ownership of this car, here is the updated lifetime fuel and energy consumption. The total amount of fuel we've burnt over 23K km is 278 litres. I've not had to pay one cent out of pocket for fuel thanks to credit card points (!). The 5 MW of electricity used cost $700. The annual service was not even too bad at $550. Our previous B200 would have used 1715 litres for that distance, damn near $4000. The smart BRABUS Canada 1 would have used 975 litres for that distance, or $2000. So nearly twice as much for the same distance as the GLC350e. The only downer is the cost of the buying the new car.
