Remember the One Tonne Challenge? The GLC 350e has been good for a lot more than one!

The high percentage of electric only driving is impressive! I would like to see a Prius Plug-In in the driveway, or another PHEV that makes sense, but Toyota is probably about it, and it would never be a Rav4. 3 years and 65k ownership of a hand-me down RHD Prius from Japan has made it's impression, even though the car was never a consideration "back in the day" of a $25k out the door cdi coupe! (The sacrifice one makes in order to be a rockstar for almost a decade, especially in WA State! LOL.)

Sounds like the next logical choice! Cynthia was hit two Fridays ago; the Corolla *might* possibly be written off. A 2022 LE Upgrade with 79,xxx kms. Bought new. Yes, the Ford van on the right is what hit her at maybe 30+ km per hour? I am still daily driving a 2007 RHD Prius - now with 137,xxx kms and nearly three years I've had it with just oil changes and lifetime FE of around 5.2 (all tracked on Fuelio), with "good weather" FE of around 4.8 or better. So for 65k of driving, it has been quite affordable, and maintenance has been oil changes, one tran fluid change, a couple air filters and a friend did spark plugs, and I rotated tires.... other than that, nada..... *If* the Corolla gets written off, it *might* possibly be a Prius Plug-in, SE trim level We have zero use for AWD I will not go full EV again anytime soon having owned two and with how expensive it is to charge on the road. The Prius can perhaps do 70% full EV (best guess) for Cynthia, and need only charge at home. They still use J1772 Level I and II, and I have a charger still from 2021.... yes, it has been that long since I punted the Kona after it got a new battery system at 40k mileage (after 10 weeks - the entire summer of 2021 - sitting in the dealer lot.....!)

"But what about battery replacement cost in 8 years...?" "What about battery fire hazards...?" "Aren't they destroying the roads due to their weight....?" I don't understand why people continue to find new excuses to justify keeping their ICE in the name of practicality. I personally love hybrids and EVs. Its awesome that you've kept track and post your experience and savings. My Brabus Canada 1 gets about the same $1375/year in fuel (if driven all year round), Focus RS $4130, and GLK250 $2292... The Fiat 500e cost $315 in electricity...and there's almost no maintenance. We just ordered a 2026 Model 3 Premium awd...can't wait! Iz -
I should also add that it's very quiet and comfortable, the heated and ventilated seats are great, the leather is nice, the huge sunroof is fabulous, the rear air suspension (self-levelling) is cool for off-roading due to the height setting being adjustable. Not that we've gone off-road yet....our passengers also like the comfortable heated rear seats.
