13 years of Smart driving and never had a proper puncture except slow leaks fixed by preinjected tyre gunk. I carry a spare wheel and jack when venturing afar but have never had the opportunity to use those in earnest. I check tyre pressure almost monthly but usually do a cursory check before each drive.

10 years and ditto; however, I was on a smart drive in the USA with two others when one car got a sidewall gash and the sealant would only hold 8 PSI in the tire. Keith had to limp slowly back to the border at 50 km/h.... That's when I decided to get one.

...and in December last year I bent a rim on a huge pothole. The vibration was ridiculous and would have destroyed the bearing in no time and the tire looked to be on the verge of deflating at the bead. So I used the spare for the 60 km drive and it paid off nicely. It would have been a flatbed tow otherwise.

I am ~6'3" and it fits behind my seat nicely. I have a 115 section spare on a 3.5 inch wide rim.

My handbook tells me spare wheel is behind driver's seat:

I store krik, wielmoersleutel, bandenzak and gebruicksaanwijzing in centre of wheel.

No OEM spares in North American smarts...

Must be an American thing. Martian Rovers do not have spare wheels either.
