  1. I need right endgate latch fpr my 2006 smart 450 coupe Could pick it up Calgary area or Victoria area, otherwise, mail, ship or...
  2. Hi Element. I need a right rear latch for the endgate of my 2006 smart fortwo Color does not matter Thanks
  3. I'll agree with the tip to take lots of water. If you have car trouble- don't walk for help in the outback. They loose most travellers that way. Small town pubs are great places for lunch. Many resauraunts and "rest stops" on highways do not have public "toilet" facilities. There are street sign type markers directing you to the public"toilets" -usually well maintained.MacDonalds abd many motels have wifi hot spots. Melbourne has unusual right of way turning rules.Everyone we met was friendly. We didn't find any place we wouldn't like to spend more time in (except maybe driving in downtown Sydney)-Smartmom
  4. Have you left for your trip yet?We just got back from 4 months touring Australia. - In a Kluger (like a Highlander) it felt very bigRoads were narrower- lots of flooding this past season. We saw very few smarts.Remember to keep left-Smartmom
  5. It is a tough colour to match- too orange for the reds and too red for the oranges.I've ordered some fabric swatches. We'll see what comes. My seat is wearing out on the top edge near the door, and something sharp is catching clothes on the seat.Meanwhile it is at the dealership - I was rear-ended last Saturday. --
  6. Great - I've been looking at their sire for quite a while, wondering. Now --what goes with my orangey red---?-Smartmom
  7. Thanks Debbie.I'm pretty sure that is the ciompany I heard about a few yeas ago.-Donna
  8. Hello fellow smart owners.I have a question passed to me by another model 450 owner. Are there any mechanics or garages who will do the A and B service on our cars, besides the dealerships?I use Lonestar myself, but I heard of a garage or shop a few years ago in the North that worked on mercedies, smarts and performance cars.We wouldn't want to turn over our little desils to someone who didn't know them. Thanks,Smartmom
  9. On my 2006 coupe, driver's side seat, there are three protruding hooks on the lower seat back . Left side. These tore a favorite pair of pants today. DH's smart was the same, so he just tightened the hooks so they were not as open.On the passenger seat these hooks contain a cable. Problem now fixed on both cars. Maybe caused by seat comprssion baring hooks overe the years.Check your seats, they too may be waiting to snag your wardrobe.
  10. We pay $1242 for each of two smart cars - but we are both over 60 and have been with the same company for 30+ years, I think. Multiple vehicle discount, etc. $500 deductible. Our 21 yr.old son pays $1628 to insure an old (1996) Taurus
  11. Oh Chris, you are in our thoughts. We are so sorry to hear of your loss.Hold on to friends and family at this time. -smartmom (Donna)
  12. My son has driven an 05 pure cabrio since spring '05. - year round. It does not start well at -30 celcuis but neither does my 06.Winter tires are a must . Calgary winters get cold, but some of our Edmonton smart owners might have experiences more like Saskatoon winters. They are fun cars to drive, expensive to service at a dealer, and a fill up is $16-18.Parking is easy and we can keep up at highway speeds. Slow out of a stop light - and don't try to pass a big truck on a big hill with a short passing lane. We've driven ours (05 and 06) to San Fransisco and back - no problems. You can fit golf clubs in the back if you remove the drivers from the bag and put them in on an angle. I'm still a fan after 4+ years.
  13. What a great marketing idea ! I saw the display "spaberry" today when my car was in for service. The spa can be moved around when it is empty - on a deck, patio or that front half of your garage parking space. The spa is about as long as a smart car, but not as wide. Today (May 5) in Calgary it was snowing again. Good publicity for the smart and the spa. -Smartmom
  14. I had the seasonal flu shot last week and the H1N1 shot last Monday on the first day it was available.I stood in line for five hours last Monday.I'm diabetic, which puts me in a higher risk group.I am also helping look after three elderly seniors and two post - secondary school students.I don't want any of them to get sick, and most of them intend to get the vacine when they can (except for the one who doesn't do needles)If it is a question of putting something in your body that is not good for it - don't get me started on Halloween candy....(especially those tasty little chocolate bars)
  15. "But the clutch actuator should be covered under the standard 4 year/80,000 Km warranty. When was the car first registered? "My car was first registered about Sept. 22/ 05 - not by me. I was about 6 weeks past the factory warranty. Under 50,000 Kms.I tend to keep vehicles 10+ years, so more warranty is better peace of mind for me. (clutch actuators problems or not.)
